INNA
The project
Ideate, design, prototype, test, build and launch a new gut health and wellbeing app for Holland and Barrett.
The project kicked off as a tool to support gut health. During the discovery phase, the focus shifted from general gut health to tackling IBS and its variants to give targeted and personalised support.

Ideate
To define the project's scope, key stakeholders reviewed the problem statements and prioritised the 'How might we...?' statements as the following:
-
How might we empower IBS sufferers, throughout their specific IBS journey from beginning to end, to help them effectively manage their condition?
-
How might we guide and support IBS sufferers to feel confident to adopt the various solutions to maintain these changes in their lives?
Additionally, an in-depth landscape analysis of two main competitors was conducted along with a Crazy 8's session, focused on the next steps to advance the app's key outcomes.

Information Architecture & Wireflows
User research indicated that a comprehensive strategy for promoting gut health involved a combination of various services, educational resources, and health and wellness products. A well-structured information architecture facilitated the creation of an optimal user journey for navigating the app.

User Testing
User testing during the app's ideation and design phases confirmed that the user journey and new features aligned with the needs of the customer base. Rapid prototyping and testing facilitated swift product launches and enhancements to the app.

Design System
The Inna app's design system was established on the principles of the H&B design system, maintaining a link to the core business while crafting a unique identity for the app through the colour palette, new components, icons, and illustrations.
